參訪 士林高商 - 又是一間令我頭皮發麻的學校

興高采烈的校外教學來了!
















看了一堂很厲害的課!!

應用外語科 上課內容果然驚人,
全英文, 而且老師出的問題都很難!

這位老師教得非常好!
先是一位同學介紹article mind map (as review?!)

再呈現給我們看的是shadow relay活動.
這個結合理解、閱讀、思考、口說,小組合作等能力!!

Warm up: Pictures of acrobatics, Chinese operas.... related themes.

instructions:
1. T will ask Qs. Only the last role has the magazine (Studio Classroom), and they can find answers in the magazine.
2. Then, he / she will pass the answer to the front. 
3. The quickest one gets point.
4. After each Qs, Ss move backward one seat.

Good: 
- Everyone is involved. In order to pass the answer, they need to talk clearly and understandable way.
- Interesting and challenging.
***Teach grammar within the answers. 

But those who weren't fast enough, sometimes, did not listen to the people speaking answers in the front. (maybe a teacher need to draw Ss' attention to him / her)



The mind map is great, but a bit too small on the projector.
































The questions are hard! The topic is Chinese opera (京劇).
These are some Qs (hope I did not infringe copyright!
The Qs are designed by 蔡老師.

1. How many paragraphs?     (As a warm up, an easy one)
2. What can you hear & see in a Chinese opera performance?
  **the answer was a 分詞構句, ask: What are the two words omitted? Why? (分詞構句主詞一樣, 去連接詞, 動詞變化)
                            purpose? 更精簡
3. What are most Chinese operas based on?
     A: Farewell my Concubine (ask meaning)
4. What is "Farewell my Concubine" about?
   (There is an more info sheet, explaining more operas)
   (**Ss try to read everything, but that's too long!)
   T: What happened in the end?
   Show answer, 討論分詞構句
   -> watch a clip (part of that)

5. What is 白蛇傳about?
The Ruse of Empty City
voc: resourcefulness 逐字多謀 (with wits)
grammar: 
諸葛亮 ordered the gate be left open.
(Why the gate "be" left open?
原句: S ordered the gate (should) be left open. 

"要命建堅"
                 要求、命令、建議、堅持
should 可省略, 直接加上原形動詞

6. What elements can also help tell these famous stories?
    Ans: hand movement, beautiful masks...

7. (T speak the Qs outloud)
   Of all 300 and more Chinese operas, which is the most famous one?  
Ans: Peking / Beijing Opera.
T: Why is it called Peking (北平) -> It's your homework.

8. What does Beijing Opera combine?
Ans: acrobatics and singing and dancing.

9. What kind of instruments is used to accompany the performance?
Ans: cymbal, drums....

10. How can audiences recognize a story?
Ans: By looking at mask & costumes
T: Any example? If a person wears yellow, who is him?
A: An Emperor 帝王
   (Empire 帝國)

11. What are the functions of costumes?
A: To represent the characters.

warm up: 4 politicians
Create a Peking opera mask for politicians, and share the masks with class.
(great assignment! This combines what they learnt. I wonder if there's a paper for them to draw on?)

各職業類科需求不一, 老師曾經段考一口氣出七份考題!!

我真得難以想像劉老師的生活,
當老師不是只有教學而已,
這樣代課老師就好了!
為學校付出就是做很多很多隱形的幕後推手.

等我去實習就可以體驗"行政、導師、教學"
於是, 當學生快樂哉, 請好好把握僅存的一個月!!

預定進度與實際差別:
1.      上課要安排小考, vocabulary, pattern I & II, dialogue, reading. 這些至少花10分鐘.
2.      週四檢查reading way、平時檢查英文講義、收習作,這些也要10分鐘.
3.      教學方面:
-          和同學有互動時,教學時間必會拉長。Ex. Grammar Pattern, 要點同學回答問題、給時間寫課本練習、請同學上台寫答案、檢討。
-          有時教得不夠仔細、做複習活動,都花上一節課(4/14)
-          有時自己都不知道講錯 (口誤或講太快,還有真的教錯-> 這很不應該!!!!!)
如何避免:1. 不確定的事情一定要先問Amy.
          2. 教學前和同學對答案!
4.      檢討考卷預估半節課(10-20分鐘,視題目難度)

6.      各個活動檢討:
-          Unscramblequestion design活動很好,但不是每一課課文都合適

適合故事性的文章,ex. U4, 效果很好,到了U5,變成著重聽力,所以沒這麼容易。
-          Question design, 適合有人事時地物的文章,像U4Reading是一篇日記,可以問的問題有限。(Amy 那時建議,可以擴大範圍,到reading)
-          文法做講義真的比較清楚 good!
-          U5 presentation. 學生present完,老師一定要重述一遍,請全班寫下來
-          Read and memorize 可以用,效果不錯。我這回是read out, to ensure everyone gets the line.
-          U6 warm up + present key words. 如果是重要的,除了請學生動筆抄,還要幫他們想抄在課本哪個角落!
-          Nepal 結合文法重點又關懷時事,super!!
7.      對於這次的教學,滿意!
Dialogue & Reading, 學生還是依賴老師講完。的確,老師講比較清楚很多。於是,我的結論:老師詳細講課,再來帶大活動換學生產出。
8.      需要改進的部分:(具體)
-          我的ppt總是不夠活潑。(我喜歡極簡+清楚,但花俏似乎比較吸引人)
-          Instruction能力,明明在家裡背好,臨場總是會少一句>”<,像時間、或是某某規則
9.      覺得很好的規則、習慣:
-          翻譯題親自一對一改,為了解學生學習狀況,同學們也比較認真! Thanks Amy!

-          每周幾乎有備完下一週所有的課~ (幾乎啦這很重要! 一定要做到!!)
